On a perfect spring day, 19 of us (15 bikes, 3 pillions and one vehicle) made our way via the R512 to the Broederstroom Shopping Centre where we were welcomed by the Grant and his team from Isuzu Driving Academy. They've arranged undercover parking for our bikes and we were given the first opportunity to drive the mu-Xs to Glen Afric Lodge, just 2km up a dirt road.
A short safety briefing followed the muffin, coffee and juice break, before we headed out to Hennops 4x4.
I am so chuffed with the ladies as a large percentage never even driven a vehicle in a 4x4 situation! Wow
We went down steep declines and up some seriously rocky inclines. We did axle twisters too! That was such fun. And we learned about tyres, their ratings, how to check their "expiry" dates and so much more.
After arriving back at the lodge we had a scrumptious lunch and watched the rugby, some got really excited and it was nice to see that we share more than just the love of riding our bikes and good food! Then it was time to feed the elephants - Three, her daughter Hannah and Marty. They chomped those carrots
Sadly we had to go home and we made our way back to our bikes and said our thanks and goodbyes. We all arrived home safely and shared photos of what was a fabulous day. I am fortunate to have spent it with 18 that I regard as my friends.
And with that, 2019's ladies rides are a wrap! Till 2020!
